October 28th. From Lisboa Airport, took a city bus and then train south to Setabol. Then, as planned, a ferry to Trioa for 1.25Euro. Met a zoung French guy on a bicycle pulling a 1 wheel trailer, who was in the middle stages of a 6 month camping tour of Europe, wow. Unfortunately, the Trioa campground was closed and the next closest one was 14KM. too far for me to hike. He went on, I took the ferryback to Setabol, somewhat discouraged and jet lagged. I asked two young backpacker types for directions to a quarto (Portuguese for room) and was directed to Residential Tody. A Russian woman let me in and said that a room was 25Euros, I offered 20 and we agreed. The room was excellent, 2nd floor with tiny balcony overlooking an old town square. Despite my exhaustion, I decided to jog and started out along the beach front toward an old castle in the hill.
